Daughters and Sons Scholarship Program
Children of eligible employees and retirees can apply for a Daughters and Sons Scholarship. Applications for the next academic year are accepted Dec. 14 through Feb. 15. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $4,000.
To qualify, an applicant must:
- Be a dependent child, age 24 or younger, of full- or part-time active or retired employees.
- Be a high school senior or graduate, or current postsecondary undergraduate.
- Plan to enroll or continue full-time in undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational technical school during the next academic year.
- Have a parent who is a retiree or a current part- or full-time employee with at least one year of employment with a WEC Energy Group company as of the application deadline. Other restrictions, such as community of residence or work, may apply.
The program will use Scholarship America’s selection criteria ‒ academic performance, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career and educational goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, an outside appraisal and financial need.
Awards are renewable for up to three years for a four-year degree program and one year for a two-year or vocational technical degree. Recipients will be notified by Scholarship America in April.
Full program description and application is available each year in December and remains available until applications close on Feb. 15. Scholarship America notifies recipients in mid-April. For questions or additional information, call Scholarship America at 507-931-1682.
